Unable to login to Gnome-Shell in Ubuntu 14.04 - Ask Ubuntu

My system was running fine for several weeks until after a routine package update that didn't require a reboot, when I suddenly became unable to login to Gnome-Shell. I only discovered the problem when I did Alt+F2 and entered "r" to reload Gnome-Shell to test how much memory would be freed up.

How to Enable GNOME Classic Mode on Ubuntu - OMG! Ubuntu!

The good news is that you can quickly and easily install the GNOME Classic mode session on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (and above) just by installing a single package. Yup, you can avoid the gnome-vanilla-desktop package that's suggested elsewhere online because, to quote the Spice Girls: it's just Too Much of something, and that's bad enough.

Wired Unmanaged - Ubuntu desktop issue - Linux Networking ...

I have installed a GNOME desktop on my Ubuntu 18.04 server. The installation went well, I can login and etc. However, some of the netwrok services/features do not work. For example I'm unable to enable Remote Desktop most likely due to "No Networks selected for sharing" message. Furthermore, I'm unable to connect using the top right menu. I only get message "Wired Unmanaged" as ...

[Solved] "E: Unable to locate package" Error on Ubuntu

If Ubuntu Packages website also shows that the package is not available for your specific version, then you'll have to find some other ways to install the package. Take Shutter for example. How to Use GNOME Shell Extensions [Complete Guide] - It's FOSS

While discussing how to install themes in Ubuntu 17.10, I briefly mentioned GNOME Shell Extension. It was used to enable user themes. Today, we'll have a detailed look at GNOME Shell Extensions in Ubuntu 18.04 and higher versions. I may use the term GNOME Extensions instead of GNOME Shell Extensions but both have the same meaning here.
